Mysterious Fungus - DT508

The 'Mysterious Fungus' game jam was a jam that had students of DIT's first year game design class, make a sequel or installment in a fictional genre franchise. 

The rules for the jam were as follows:

The story should be inspired by a tv-show or book you *vaguely* remember from childhood, but don't copy those charcaters, they should be your own characters. You can research ideas and thoughts, but you should try and refrain from looking up the original source directly.

The game should start halfway through the story, ie, in the middle of the book or after the ad break.

- Evoke a very specific place full of details and specificity
- Create 3 characters and character sheets
- Create 3 scenes with dialog.
- Include the 3 Excel character sheets. You can create your own, template inc with notes.

Just One Line (JOL)

Role-playing indie videogame set in a funny and colorful fantasy world. Create your hero choosing from a list of races and backgrounds and embark on a variety of quests with heavy focus on choices and consequences. Your character will progress by increasing his/her renown and relations with the factions of the kingdom, unlocking new races and backgrounds for your next playthrough.

The Bottom of the Well

A visual novel centered around Alice, who has had a very disturbing dream about the imminent apocalypse. The story is told through a chat dialogue with her friend, as Alice pieces together what happened and what her dream might mean. Winner of the amateur category in the Write a Game Challenge arranged by IGDA’s Game Writing SIG.

IRL (In Real Life)

In Real Life (IRL) is about a young girl whose story is sadly familiar to many who have no voice. Their story needs to be told, they need voices to speak on their behalf and we hope this experience will raise awareness of the plight of children around the world. Not only that, we want to show people that it is not hatred that is needed, it is understanding, education, research and help that is required.

I'm not just a sheep / Non sono solo una pecora

This game was designed and drawn by a seven year old child during his first "real" game production experience, at Global Game Jam 2016. 

The story is about a young sheep whostarts a journey outside her home world, she begins discovering her internal difficulties allegorized by different animals. Talking with them and helping their problems she helps herself into a more mature life.
